Lava Shell massage is a type of heat treatment that uses Tiger-striped clam shells as a massage tool. The clams have been harvested for food in the Philippines for hundreds of years. The shells used to be thrown away, but are now being recycled and used for Lava Shell massage. The heat is produced by inserting a ‘lava gel sachet’ and ‘activator liquid’ into the shell which then emits continuous heat, allowing therapists to provide an uninterrupted and seamless body massage. Due to the lava shells’ unique shape and angles they become an extension of the therapist’s hands, deploying deeply therapeutic relief to where it is needed.

Created with sensitivity in mind this pure performance facial brings balance, clarity, deep rejuvenation and lift. All the benefits of other thermal therapies plus a few more. Heated Himalayan pink salt rocks soothe away muscle tension while gently exfoliating and remineralising. Made from ancient natural salt which has been protected from modern-day pollution, negative ions are produced when the rocks are heated, creating a sense of peace and deeper relaxation. Containing trace minerals and elements that are found in the human body, the salt stones moisturise and plump up the superficial layers of the skin leaving it feeling refreshed and glowing.
Profoundly relaxing and balancing treatment performed on the feet to encourage health and vitality. It differs to a foot massage because rather than focusing on releasing tension in the soft tissue of the foot itself the reflexologist works on very specific reflex points on the foot that connect energetically to the body as a whole, releasing blockages and supporting the body’s innate healing abilities. Hugely beneficial in counteracting the effects of stressful lives and a favourite among expectant mothers (after the first trimester) to alleviate discomfort.
Relieves aches and fatigue of the feet and lower limbs with stretching and massage using traditional Thai balm while stimulating pressure points and decongesting Sen (energy) lines to promote health and well-being.
Revitalise your hands or feet with this luxury extremity therapy. Includes filing and shaping of your nails, cuticle work, exfoliation & nourishment of your skin and a thorough massage. You can choose to complete your treatment with regular nail varnish or with a gel polish, which is a great alternative to regular polish, especially on finger nails, as it dries instantly and is much harder wearing, lasting up to 3 weeks with no chipping, peeling or cracking. Or can leave them au natural with just a buff! All products used in this treatment are vegan friendly, cruelty free and natural, or organic where possible. The brands of polish, both regular and gel, are non-toxic being ‘5-free’ and ’10-free’ respectively, that is to say free from the formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), camphor and more of the most toxic chemicals traditionally found in nail polish formulas whilst being professional standard products developed for salon use.

An invigorating and effective seated massage usually performed without oil and through light clothing, such as a t-shirt, to release muscular tension in the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp and face. A focused and vigorous treatment in which I use a variety of authentic Indian champissage techniques as they were taught to me by my teacher, the late Narendra Metha, who first popularised this treatment in the west. It is based on the traditional form of Champi (head massage) practised in India for over 1,000 years.
A full body brush to stimulate the lymphatic system and cell renewal and a body polish using Himalayan hot salt rocks to lightly exfoliate while infusing the body with essential minerals get this treatment under way. You are then wrapped in an age defying and detoxifying body mask of essential oils and acai berry extract. While the mask takes effect your face is treated using products from the SKN-RG range, the only professional performance organic, vegan and cruelty free facial available on the market today, and your scalp is massaged. The treatment finishes with a body massage to ease away remaining tension paying attention to any problem areas using deep tissue massage if needed.
Sometimes called a bacial, a portmanteau of back and facial, this treatment tends to that hard to reach area. Starting with a scalp massage to release head and neck tension, your skin is then dry brushed, cleansed, exfoliated, steamed, and thoroughly massaged using deep tissue techniques if needed. Treatment finishes with a tone and moisturise leaving your skin in great condition. This treatment truly is a facial for your back!
As a fully trained aromatherapist I will prepare a blend of essential oils tailored to your needs which are applied to your skin during a massage that is more gentle than a Swedish massage and which includes pressure point work to awaken your nervous system to receive the oils. You will then be wrapped so that you can lie cocooned and cosy with gentle warmth encouraging your pores to open and fully absorb the volatile therapeutic elements of the essences while receiving your scalp massage and facial treatment using products from the Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose range.
Also known as Natural Facelift Massage this is the sister treatment to the Indian head massage and so is also mostly performed without oil. A series of unique and specific friction massage techniques on the soft tissues, and pressure applied to the marma points (Ayurvedic pressure points) of the face serve to ease restrictions in the connective tissue of the skin allowing softening of fixed areas of tension, toning and relaxation of the underlying facial muscles, enhancement of micro-circulation and lymph drainage while providing an outstandingly relaxing facial treatment.
Spa Find nourishing mineral mud facial. This treatment includes a cleanse, hot cloth steam, exfoliate and massage to prepare your skin for the hydrating and softening mask. Activated using harmonised water to enhance the mineralising effect of the Dead Sea Mud the mask then requires a full 20/30 minutes to fully set and impart all of its healing properties. While the mask is doing its thing, take your pick of a mini treatment to relax further. Reflexology or Thai foot massage work well or some reiki. It’s up to you. Suitable for sensitive skin, it contains Citric Acid to help balance the skin’s pH and peels off to reveal a firmer and smoother complexion. Your treatment finishes with Spa Find Deep Sea Nourishment Intensive Cream being massaged into your skin to leave you relaxed, remineralised and radiant.
Made from a blend of lemongrass, turmeric and other herbs, the compresses are steamed then worked along energy lines and into soft tissue. Moist heat and the herbs take effect enhancing your relaxation even further.
A relatively new style of massage that, due to it’s effectiveness, is fast gaining popularity. During treatment warm organic coconut oil is worked into the skin and heated bamboo tools are used to stretch out areas of tightness interspersed with targeted deep pressure work on knots and trigger points. Just like all modalities of massage muscle tension is treated but in this case using a range of different sized warmed silky bamboo canes which allow the application of deeper broader pressure and longer sweeping strokes. As with other thermal massage treatments, the heat imparted to the soft tissues from the bamboo enhances the releasing effect on the muscles and connective tissue and bamboo massage makes for a good alternative for, or complement to, sports or deep tissue massage.
Reiki generates a sense of inner peace and deep relaxation as it gently influences the recipient’s individual system towards balance. During a treatment energy passes through the practitioner’s hands as they are placed non-intrusively on the recipient’s fully clothed recumbent body. Reiki is a system of natural healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century and is open to any belief system. It sits happily alongside other conventional or complementary treatments so lends itself well to inclusion in any other therapies as a shorter taster for those who want to try it without too much commitment.
Pregnancy massage calls on techniques from Swedish and Aromatherapy massage to provide a treatment which can be adapted for any stage of pregnancy and uses a blend of appropriate essential oils to relax mum to be while nurturing the skin.
A sublimely relaxing facial using Aromatherapy Associates’ signature facial Rose range. An invigorating top to toe body scrub with Himalayan salt followed by a full body massage with warmed organic coconut infused with your blend of organic essential oils to nurture your skin and relax your body and mind.
Aromatherapy proffers the many healing and therapeutic properties of essential oils. Following a short consultation a blend is created specifically for you and your treatment commences with the application of your unique personal blend using an aromatherapy massage. Much gentler than a Swedish or deep tissue massage, the focus of this treatment is on the therapeutic action that the oils bestow on the body and nervous system as they are inhaled and absorbed through the skin.
Uses smooth volcanic basalt stones heated, and oiled, to smoothly but firmly work into tense and knotty muscles. The warmth of the stones, combined with the massaging action on the muscles, relaxes and releases muscular tension.
The quintessential massage therapy, Swedish massage uses a harmonious combination of different strokes and firm and gentle pressure to soothe away knotted, tense muscles while delivering mental and physical relaxation.
